The Rothbury Village Council at its Aug. 19 meeting approved an expanded easement for Consumers Energy that will result in a one-time payment of $4,061 to the village, adopted an Electric Forest wristband distribution policy prepared by the village attorney, and appointed Juan Cano to the Planning Commission.
Treasurer Deb Murphy reported during the meeting that Mass Gathering Fees from the 2025 Electric Forest Festival were received but were about $69,000 lower than in 2024, a change she called out during the financial update. Recreation Director Brandy Williams said DNR grant paperwork has been submitted and is “good to go,” and she explained that a reallocation of that grant funding allowed the council to consider the Consumers Energy easement.
