The Juvenile Justice Advisory Board approved a $771,582 FY25 Title II federal formula budget and approved motions to extend grant deadlines and reschedule its June meeting during its April 16 meeting in Louisville.
Carly Gill, a DJJ staff member, presented the proposed FY25 formula budget of $771,582, which included $24,000 for planning and administration (with $12,000 in federal share), $624,582 for program areas (including $524,582 designated for subawards) and $75,000 for SAG and R/ED activities. Cicely Cottrell moved to approve the budget; Donna Simmons seconded, and the motion passed.
The board also voted to move the June meeting to Friday, June 26 because the previously scheduled date fell on Juneteenth. Cicely Cottrell moved the change, Tamar Israel seconded, and the motion carried. Separately, the Grants Committee recommended extending the FY23 Title II application deadline to May 22 after correcting an error in the published NOFO; the board approved that extension on a motion by Cicely Cottrell, seconded by Laura Karem.
Earlier in the meeting, Angela Wilson moved to accept February’s minutes; Harry Clark seconded and the board approved the minutes.
The board listed its next meeting as Aug. 21, 2025 at 1 p.m. (TBA).
