The board approved a one-year contract at $5,000 per month with Allerton Hill Communications to develop a districtwide communications framework including website design, social-media strategy and branding.
The superintendent said the district received feedback that families find the website hard to navigate and that the district lacks a consistent communications framework. "This will help us districtwide really build a framework for communications, pull together our branding," the superintendent said, adding the consultants will meet weekly or every other week and help the district measure impact with pre- and post-surveys.
Why it matters: district leaders said better coordination of communications will help families know when and where to expect important information and will provide tools for principals and administrators to share content more consistently.
Vote: after brief discussion the board moved and approved the contract. The superintendent said the contract will begin once approved and the team will start immediately to implement website and communications improvements.
The district will reassess the contract after a year and use data (web/social-media hits and family feedback) to evaluate outcomes.
