KDE reports progress on Kentucky United We Learn Framework 2.0 after statewide town halls

FRANKFORT — Commissioner Robbie Fletcher and KDE staff on Feb. 6 briefed the Kentucky Board of Education on progress developing the Kentucky United We Learn (KUWL) Assessment and Accountability Framework 2.0.
Presenters including Division Director Jennifer Stafford and Chief Performance Officer Karen Dodd reviewed work since October 2024, described feedback gathered from the Local Superintendent Advisory Council and December KBE input, and summarized town hall meetings held in January that solicited views from educators, students, families, legislators and community members. Staff said educational cooperatives also hosted discussions and that the KUWL Council is using the input to refine Framework 2.0.
Board members raised questions and staff responded about how new assessment and accountability systems could work locally; KDE framed the next steps as continued stakeholder engagement and iterative revisions to the framework.
