Hampton council approves consent agenda and extends engineering contract

The Hampton City Council approved its consent agenda and extended a consulting and engineering contract in actions the council said would keep several city projects and grant efforts moving forward.
Vice Chair Douglas Williamson moved to approve the consent agenda, which included meeting minutes from Nov. 26 and Dec. 17 and the November/December 2024 accounts payable; Councilwoman Dot Shealey seconded and the motion passed 3–0.
Under new business, City Clerk/Administrator Mary Lou Hildreth told the council that the contract with Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering (ICE) had expired and needed renewal because ICE is handling active projects and grant work for the city. Councilwoman Dot Shealey moved to execute the ICE contract extension, Councilwoman Lillian Sams seconded, and the motion passed 3–0.
During the clerk’s report, Hildreth also noted completed administrative tasks and routine maintenance: FRDAP grant contracts have been executed, the playground vendor repaired paint on slides, the city is working with Emerald Data to migrate email to clerk@hamptonfl.gov for improved security, and a community food distribution is scheduled at the ARC.
No contested votes or formal disputes were recorded in the meeting minutes; the council adjourned after standard reports and the city attorney’s agenda slot.
