The Clinton School District Board of Trustees on Monday approved a slate of personnel hires and administrative raises ahead of the 2025–26 school year.
Trustees voted to hire Melissa Hallgren as head volleyball coach and Chelsea Wilson as assistant girls volleyball coach. The board also approved Abraham Barham as head school soccer coach and Kira Everett Lapkey as assistant middle‑school soccer coach; Barham’s hiring was approved pending completion of required background checks. "He's very knowledgeable [about] soccer," the superintendent said of Barham, and noted his spouse works at Clinton School.
The board approved classroom hires as well: Delaney Peterson was approved as the kindergarten teacher for 2025–26, pending background check, and Cassandra Caldwell was approved as a third‑grade teacher, also pending background check. The superintendent described both new teachers as having classroom and student‑teaching experience and said mentors have been assigned to support their transitions.
In other personnel business, trustees approved administrative team raises for the coming school year and signed off on an independent consulting contract for Amanda Seer to support district work in 2025–26.
Several approvals were noted as subject to routine conditions: the board approved hires "pending background check" where checks were still outstanding, and the superintendent said out‑of‑district students leaving the district will be brought to the board for acknowledgement in August once the forms are complete.
The board is scheduled to revisit some paperwork and onboarding matters at its next regular meeting in August.
