Lindenhurst trustees accept FY2021–22 audit, endorse Greenest Region Compact and approve Lake Shore Drive change orders

At its Jan. 9 meeting the Lindenhurst Village Board accepted the fiscal year 2021–22 financial audit, adopted an Arbor Day proclamation and Resolution 23-1-2247R endorsing the Greenest Region Compact, and approved two change orders for the Lake Shore Drive water main project totaling $65,795.97.
Trustee Pat Dickson and her colleagues on the Lindenhurst Village Board voted unanimously on Jan. 9 to accept the village’s fiscal year 2021–22 financial audit and to approve a set of routine and project-related actions.
A representative from auditing firm Lauterbach & Amen, LLP presented the results of the FY2021–22 audit; Trustee Pat Dickson moved to accept the auditors’ findings and Trustee Heath Rosten seconded. The board approved the motion on a 5–0 roll call vote with Trustees Pat Dickson, Pat Dunham, Dawn Suchy, Heath Rosten and Ron Grace voting aye.
The meeting also advanced the village’s environmental commitments. The board adopted a proclamation recognizing Arbor Day on April 29, 2022 and April 28, 2023 and unanimously approved Resolution 23-1-2247R endorsing the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus’ Greenest Region Compact, which the resolution says provides no-cost resources to support local clean-energy and sustainability policy work.
On public works business, trustees approved Change Orders #1 and #2 for the Lake Shore Drive water main replacement project after staff reported that Christopher B. Burke Engineering encountered additional costs tied to conflicts with live and abandoned utilities found during construction. The board approved the change orders in the amount of $65,795.97 on a 5–0 roll call vote.
Routine consent actions carried without objection. Trustee Dawn Suchy moved, and the board approved, the minutes of the Dec. 12, 2022 meeting; the board approved the first set of bills for January totaling $945,480.75; and accepted the Treasurer’s Report for December 2022, which showed $14,271,536.08 in combined account balances as of Dec. 31, 2022.
During board and staff reports Trustee Suchy recognized local residents and businesses for community assistance over the holidays, and Mayor Pro Tem Pat Dunham shared a thank-you from the 100 Club of Illinois for funds raised at the village’s golf outing. A resident asked about policies for ice fishermen on village lakes; Dunham referred the question to the Lakes Commission for follow-up.
The board adjourned at 7:36 p.m. No executive session was held.
