Welcome Neighbor rep: City should review newcomer folders for updates

Donna, a representative of the Welcome Neighbor program, introduced herself at the March 10 Spirit of Community Commission meeting and described the program’s newcomer folder for people moving to Delano.
"Businesses pay to have their items included in the folders, while civic and nonprofit groups are able to advertise at no cost," Donna said. She shared a Welcome Neighbor folder that contains information and advertisements from local amenities and businesses.
Commission members agreed the City should review which items it includes in the Welcome Neighbor materials and consider making updates to ensure information stays current and relevant for new residents.
