The Town of Green Lake Board met on Monday, Feb. 10, 2025, and accepted Treasurer Machkovich’s January financial report and approved a Department of Natural Resources lease for a state-owned public access site. Supervisor Berndt called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.; Chairman Moderow was absent.
Treasurer Machkovich reported January totals of $49,266.93 in credits and $2,718,242.24 in debits, saying the January tax settlement was part of the debits. Machkovich said tax collection is complete as of Feb. 7 and that residents who still need to pay must do so at the county. The board voted to accept the treasurer’s report with no interfund transfer required (motion by Berndt; second by Strelow; motion carried).
Maintenance lead Dan Konrad reviewed recent and planned public-works activity. He said crews removed dead trees on Sandstone and Kearly roads and at the Tuleta Hills and Oakwood intersection and cleared brush and small trees. The town received crack-fill estimates of $800 for Kahl Road and $2,300 for Oakwood Avenue; Konrad said pothole patching will begin once weather permits.
Konrad also reported that the broken post for the street sign at Kearly and County Road O will be replaced when the ground thaws, that the town ordered a new metal detector for the cemetery, and that crews will remove the woven wire fence on Miller Road by the Schuster Farm to improve mowing access. He added that engine oil and filters are being changed on dump trucks and payloaders as part of seasonal equipment preparation. Konrad said he will solicit bids for blacktop work on Phelps and bring those bids to a future meeting (project funding and timeline not specified).
The board approved a motion to accept the town’s Lease of State-Owned Public Access Site under the DNR maintenance agreement; Clerk Mehn was instructed to email a copy of the agreement with Chairman Moderow’s signature once obtained (motion by Berndt; second by Strelow; motion carried).
There were no public comments during the audience participation portion of the meeting. The board voted to adjourn at 7:14 p.m. (motion by Berndt; second by Strelow; motion carried).
