Elgen also noted the airport had received a $1,000 preliminary engineering grant from the State of Montana earlier in the year. Council members reviewed the funding structure and the potential local match but no formal vote on committing local funds is recorded in the minutes.
If the federal application is approved, the town’s share of the match would be determined in coordination with county officials and under whatever conditions the grant requires.
