USD 452 board approves resignations and new contracts after executive sessions

The Stanton County Unified School District No. 452 Board of Education held several executive sessions April 16 to address personnel matters and negotiations, then returned to open session and approved multiple resignations and contracts.
The board repeatedly entered executive session to review personnel matters — including staff resignations, hiring recommendations and teacher evaluations — with Superintendent Trenton Horn and Principal Leah Crane joining for portions of the closed sessions. Each executive-session motion was moved, seconded and carried unanimously. Principal Leah Crane left the meeting at 8:41 p.m. following one of the sessions.
After the executive sessions the board approved the presented resignations: Leah Crane (JR Class Sponsor), Mindy Wilson (JR Class Sponsor), Dara Floyd (full-time substitute teacher) and Rob Wilson (assistant junior high football coach). Bret Kendrick moved to approve the resignations; Chantry seconded and the motion carried 7-0.
The board also approved several contracts: Quinten Mirabal (lateral movement to 4th grade teacher), Olivia Seger (high school science teacher), Kynzi Fehringer (summer maintenance), Frank Garcia (summer maintenance) and Shelby Hernandez (summer painting crew). Paige German moved to approve the contracts; Val seconded and the motion carried 7-0.
Separately, the board entered executive session to discuss language in the negotiated agreement with Superintendent Horn for 20 minutes, then extended for an additional 10 minutes before returning to open session at 9:22 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 9:23 p.m.
