Mesilla trustees approve consent agenda and records-destruction resolution; multiple staff reports and grant work continue

At its Aug. 25 meeting, the Mesilla Board of Trustees approved the consent agenda, which included minutes from the Aug. 11 meeting and a purchase order for Sauder Miller and Associates for water-well and tank design ($131,755.51). Trustees also adopted Resolution 2025-51 authorizing destruction of specified town records.
Staff and trustees provided brief reports: grant opportunities including trails-plus and water-trust funding, a posted draft of the town's comprehensive plan and an upcoming joint work session with the Planning and Zoning Commission. The town reported progress on charging-station grant agreements and said parts and servicing are underway for antiquated fire hydrants; staff noted approximately 19 hydrants were out of service and that hydrant replacements are planned through grant applications.
The board also heard praise for Family Day and several procedural items; the meeting adjourned at 8:08 p.m.
