Mister Mathias presented the district's financial recovery plan and said the special meeting had been called in part to accept a staff resignation. "Her input was incredibly valuable," Mathias said of the departing employee, and he urged the board to choose a replacement who understands and will support the recovery plan, which is on the district website.
Later in the meeting the administration asked the board to accept a confidential resignation agreement for Ashley Schumacher effective July 8, 2026. The board conducted a roll-call vote; multiple members answered 'Aye' and the chair announced, "Aye's have it," indicating the board accepted the agreement.
Mathias also reminded the board that, in considering a replacement, candidates should be familiar with the financial recovery plan and its ramifications for district operations.
