Michael Steck, Hardin County Road Department Supervisor, presented two funding items to the Public Works Committee.
Steck described a Memorandum of Agreement for Local Assistance Road Program (LARP) funds totaling $627,400 intended for repairs on various Hardin County roads. He also distributed a Grant Pool Program application to complete repairs on Middle Creek Road; Steck said the state will award up to $100,000 with a required county match of 50 percent. Steck provided an estimated total repair cost of $280,650, which he said would leave the county share at $180,650.
Steck told the committee both the LARP MOA and the Middle Creek Road grant application will be placed on the Fiscal Court agenda for July 14, 2026. Committee members did not take a formal vote during the Public Works meeting; the matters are scheduled for Fiscal Court consideration.
