Hardin County planning director proposes changes to zoning map amendment process; county attorney to review

Adam King, Hardin County Planning & Zoning Director, distributed proposed text changes to the county's Zoning Map Amendment Process and explained the main edits to the committee.
King said the proposed changes include the deletion of the Procedures for Non-listed Uses and revisions to meeting-notification procedures for zone changes and conditional-use permits. He told the committee the draft will be reviewed by County Attorney Jenny Oldham and then added to the Fiscal Court agenda for consideration on or before Aug. 11, 2026.
Committee members did not take formal action during the Public Works meeting; the item was forwarded for legal review and placement on the Fiscal Court agenda.
