Library adds Canopy streaming; health department to host hearing clinics and back-to-school events

The Chair announced the county library has added a new digital service, Canopy, offering free streaming of TV and movies to library-card holders without individual subscription fees.
Public-health staff detailed a rescheduled back-to-school event (now July 29) featuring immunizations, dental services, environmental-health outreach and giveaways. Staff also described a partnership with the Kentucky Pears/Hearing Institute to host audiology clinics at the Hardin County health department; the first clinic had nine patients, and future clinics are scheduled for Oct. 16 and Jan. 14.
Health staff said some services can bill insurance but that program funds from the general assembly help backfill costs for those with high deductibles or no coverage. The clinics are an outreach effort targeted at hearing and related needs for people with histories of opioid use or other risk factors.
