Board plans citation over Haack property; approves laptops for supervisors

Vice Chairman Brandon Geyen told the board that he, Chris Klein and property owner John Haack met at the Haack property on Sept. 10, 2024 and that Haack allowed photos to be taken. Geyen said there has been no significant progress since that meeting and the board agreed to contact the sheriff's office about issuing a citation regarding the property.
On supervisor equipment, Geyen moved to approve laptops rather than Chromebooks for supervisors; Chairman Mike Helman seconded. Supervisor Andy Christensen abstained from the vote because of a conflict of interest; the motion carried 2-1.
The board did not record additional details about the substance of the citation action during the meeting. Staff was directed to follow up with the sheriff's office and to place any enforcement updates on a future agenda.
