Clerk reports audit timeline, 3% levy increase and election preparations

Clerk-Treasurer Alana Paumen told the Silver Creek Township Board on Oct. 1 that preliminary audit information has been entered into the CaseWare portal and a box of documents was delivered to the township CPA.
Paumen said audit field work is scheduled for Nov. 12–15. She said proposed levy certification forms were submitted showing a 3% increase for both township funds in line with the annual meeting approval. Paumen also reported that election judges are scheduled — including five new judges — and that election equipment will be picked up and tested shortly.
In addition, Paumen presented the August recycling report and a notice of a rate increase from CenterPoint Energy. The board did not take separate formal action on those informational items at the meeting.
The clerk said the board will proceed under the submitted levy certification and prepare for the upcoming audit field work in November.
