Vice Chairman Mike Helman moved that Silver Creek Township begin the process of issuing a notice to property owner John Haack describing violations at 3864 150th St NW and require Haack to report progress at the board’s Sept. 3, 2024 meeting. Supervisor Ryan Nelson seconded the motion, which carried 4-0.
The minutes state Haack was told he could not bring items from his Maple Lake property to the Silver Creek site and that he has been instructed previously by township action in 2013. The board provided Mr. Haack a copy of the county ordinance that the township expects him to follow and said the property needed to be returned to compliance like it was in 2014. Mr. Haack told the board he "does want to address the issues; he is cleaning out the garage at this time," according to the minutes.
Vice Chairman Helman said the township will monitor progress and that Haack should report at the first meeting in September with an update. The motion carried on a 4-0 vote. The board encouraged voluntary cleanup and said timelines and remaining work would be discussed at the next meeting.
