The board also set aside $10,000 for administrative and branding materials, which members said would cover event tents, tablecloths, promotional items and partial reimbursement for conference travel.
Several members stressed procurement and timeline constraints. Staff and several board members urged subcommittees to collect quotes and documentation for vendor procurement and to ensure any purchases conform to county contracting rules.
The board recorded a running balance throughout the meeting as it reallocated approximately $50,000 available to the Keep Beaufort County Beautiful account among the approved line items and reserved the remainder for administrative use and future decisions.
Next steps: finance subcommittee members were asked to secure quotes, confirm final amounts, and be prepared to present a reconciled, living budget document at the next full meeting; the county—udget application deadline was noted as April 9.
