At its April 28 meeting the Chester Cultural Council moved to increase public outreach for Mass Cultural Council-funded projects, with members planning a presence at the Chester on Track event and a flyer to collect community input and list project dates.
Member Melissa McAuliffe was assigned to draft a flyer template; Chair Muriel Hall and member Carol Hepworth will gather project information and Kim Fox will review paperwork to confirm funded-project dates. A participant named Andrew offered extra clipboards for the outreach table; the council noted pens would be needed.
The council also discussed a banner commemorating Chester’s 250th anniversary, targeting July 4 for display and highlighting cultural milestones. Muriel Hall presented events and milestones for the banner and Melissa McAuliffe suggested an auditorium stop where visitors could learn more about each period. Members briefly reviewed 2027 local guidelines and priorities and discussed hosting a grant reception for funded projects and prospective applicants in September.
The council set a tentative next meeting for June 9 at 6:00 p.m. and then adjourned at 7:13 p.m.; Melissa McAuliffe made the motion to adjourn, Kim Fox seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
