The union asked the district to circulate a concise one‑page summary of the health plans and to confirm open‑enrollment timing. The presenter said open enrollment is scheduled for Aug. 27 and asked the district to ensure members receive accurate cost and coverage information.
District and union participants said benefits staff were coordinating with Orlando Health and Marathon for wellness clinics and that a benefits open house was planned for late July. "Marisol and Eric both will be there," a meeting participant said, adding that Marisol had reached out to Orlando Health to attend the event.
The union also highlighted past volatility in premium costs and changes to neighboring districts’ plans; both sides said the joint insurance committee is reviewing communications. Bargainers agreed the district would send a corrected one‑page and circulate updated materials to the union and to employees before open enrollment.
Next steps: the district will confirm the benefits open‑house date and send a corrected benefits summary for review. Open enrollment and the benefits open house were discussed as upcoming items to be coordinated before the next bargaining session on July 21.
