Forest Park recognizes new fire hires and welcomes new city manager Carl Gefkin

Forest Park — The council formally introduced and welcomed four new fire-department employees and announced one promotion at its July 20 regular meeting.
Fire Department staff named new personnel including Desmond Newkirk, Isabel Soriano, Andre Eberhardt and Anthony Laughlin and announced the promotion of Deandre Robbins to EMS lieutenant. Fire staff invited residents to a State of the Department pancake breakfast at Station 3 on Aug. 1.
Mayor and council also welcomed Carl Gefkin as Forest Park’s new city manager. Gefkin thanked the council and attendees and said he would be dedicated to implementing council priorities and listening to staff and residents.
The council offered congratulations to the new hires and briefed the public on community events and department activities during closing remarks.
