Glenburn council appoints recreation committee member, orders portable building to bid and tables Cedar Breeze property

At its Sept. 26 meeting the Glenburn Town Council appointed Adam Metivier to the Recreation Committee, voted to put a surplus portable building out to bid, tabled discussion on a town-owned lot at Cedar Breeze North, approved warrants and minutes, accepted warrant articles for a Nov. 5 special town meeting and heard manager updates on landfill and paving.
The Glenburn Town Council on Sept. 26 approved a set of routine and operational items including a recreation committee appointment, a procurement decision to solicit bids for a portable building, and a temporary tabling of discussion on a town-owned lot at the end of Cedar Breeze North.
Recreation Director Carey Besse introduced Adam Metivier to the council. Councilor John Caruso moved to accept Metivier as a member of the Recreation Committee; Councilor Maurice Day seconded. The motion passed unanimously, adding Metivier to the committee roster.
Town Manager McClung told the council that intended uses for a portable building were not working out and recommended soliciting bids. Councilor Day moved to put the building out to bid, Councilor Caruso seconded, and the motion passed unanimously, authorizing staff to prepare bid documents and proceed with a public solicitation.
On a separate property item, Councilor Caruso moved to table consideration of use of the town-owned property at the end of Cedar Breeze North (Map 44 Lot 005) until the next meeting; Councilor Day seconded and the motion to table passed unanimously.
The council also voted to sign warrant articles provided by the municipal clerk/UTC for placement on the Nov. 5 special town meeting ballot related to financing a skid steer and attachments (motion by Councilor Caruso, seconded by Councilor Day; motion passed). Treasurer's Warrant #7 and the minutes of the Sept. 12, 2024 meeting were approved by unanimous votes.
In manager updates, Town Manager McClung said the landfill will not accept any more construction debris for the remainder of the season and provided a brief summary of paving projects on Phillips Road and Lakeview Road as well as curb work at Checkout Convenience store. The meeting adjourned at 7:31 p.m.
Council did not record public comment during the citizen input portion of the agenda.
