Hancock County drainage board approves encroachment, pedestrian crossing and tile variance

The board also approved a pedestrian bridge proposed in the Haven Ponds development over the Jonathan Stansbury regulated drain. Staff reported no technical objections and recommended approval with the standard county hold-harmless agreement. The drainage board chair moved and the board voted to approve the crossing as presented.
On a separate item, the board approved a variance for a minor subdivision near U.S. 40 (applicant Joe Hollis) to tie into an existing 6-inch tile for perimeter drain/septic purposes. The motion carried. Transcript readings of the fee associated with that item contain conflicting numbers; the record includes both an unintelligible figure and a reference to a $450 fee. The transcript does not provide a clean, single fee amount on the record.
The board took each of the items by formal motion and voice vote during the drainage board session.
