Superintendent said, "Adopting policy 85 15 ensures the district can respond quickly, legally, and effectively to cyber threats protecting data, people learning, the district's financial and operational health." Trustees supported a first reading but several requested more detailed procedures and technical review. One trustee asked that the district information-technology director, David Mann, be asked to review the policy and help specify the response team and concrete operational steps so the document does not sit unused.
The board approved the motion for a first reading and asked staff to bring back implementation details, including the specific incident-response team membership, key response timelines and simple on-device instructions for staff.
