Troy School District confirms receipt of School Modernization funds, plans HVAC work; bus garage idea needs more information

The Troy School District No. 287 reported at its July 14 meeting that it has received the district’s School Modernization funds and plans to use those funds for HVAC projects during the upcoming school year.
Superintendent Klaire Vogt told the board that the modernization funds have been received in full and that planned projects for the school year will address HVAC improvements. The superintendent also said the idea of building a bus garage on campus has been discussed; the board noted more information is needed before moving forward, and no decisions or commitments were made.
The superintendent’s report also noted that auditor preliminary work is scheduled for July 17 with field work in August, and that the district continues to recruit for open paraprofessional positions (a Special Education para and a general para). The board reviewed the Strategic Plan but took no action on it during the meeting.
Next steps: district staff will need to develop project scope and cost estimates for HVAC work and any campus bus garage proposal before the board can consider formal action.
