The Brockton School Board on April 8 approved an amendment to Policy 3630 (Cell Phone and Other Electronic Devices) to remove language that restricted cell phone use during the lunch period.
Trustee Olivia Johnson moved the amendment and Trustee Rae Jean Belgarde seconded. The motion passed on a recorded voice vote of four in favor, none opposed.
Administration presented the recommended change; the board did not record additional discussion on how the modification will be implemented or communicated to students and families during the meeting minutes.
The board adjourned at 6:34 p.m.
