Coquille council: minutes approved; RFP and ambulance billing reviews tabled; budget calendar adopted

At its Jan. 5 meeting the Coquille City Council unanimously approved the Dec. 1 minutes, tabled review of a GP lot RFP and ambulance billing proposals to Feb. 2, and appointed the city manager as budget officer while adopting the FY‑2026‑2027 budget calendar.
The Coquille City Council on Jan. 5 unanimously approved its Dec. 1, 2025 meeting minutes, moved several items to the Feb. 2 agenda and adopted the city’s budget calendar for fiscal year 2026‑27 while appointing the city manager as the budget officer.
Councilor Frasier moved to accept the Dec. 1 minutes; Councilor Waddington seconded, and Mayor Sam Flaherty and Councilors Westrum, Waddington, Flynn and Frasier voted yes. The minutes approval was the only consent‑calendar vote recorded.
On separate motions, the council tabled consideration of the request for proposals (RFP) for the GP lot sale and a review of ambulance billing proposals until the Feb. 2 council meeting. Mayor Flaherty said the GP lot RFP was incomplete and not ready for review. Councilor Westrum made the motion to table the RFP; Councilor Flynn seconded. Councilor Westrum moved to table the ambulance billing proposals; Councilor Waddington seconded. Both tabling motions passed unanimously.
During the meeting Mayor Flaherty opened the Budget Committee vacancies. Councilor Westrum moved to appoint City Manager Neuerburg as Budget Officer and to adopt the FY‑2026‑2027 Budget Calendar; Councilor Waddington seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The council closed routine business without public participation and adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
