The Heritage Pines CDD Board unanimously adopted Resolution 2025-02 on Dec. 10, 2024, amending the Fiscal Year 2023/2024 budget to reflect a major equipment purchase and to increase contingency funding.
District Manager Chuck Adams presented the amended budget, saying the change is needed to record a major expenditure for a new lawnmower. The revised budget adds columns showing 'Actual' versus 'Adopted Budget' and 'Proposed Increase/(Decrease)' and increases the 'Operations and maintenance - Contingencies' line item by $20,000 to cover potential additional journal entries; unspent contingency funds will remain in surplus fund balance.
Chair Kathleen Lonergan noted the district will receive a $1,298 refund from the Tax Collector’s Office representing the difference between actual and amended budget calculations. On a motion by Michael Walsh, seconded by Stephen Putman, the board approved Resolution 2025-02 unanimously.
The board did not specify further follow-up other than standard budget recordkeeping and the posted budget amendment.
