Court approves routine payments, IT contracts, road actions and investment reports

The court handled a series of routine but consequential items in its December session, including bills, payroll, contracts and road actions.
Payments and payroll: Commissioners approved payment of regular bills, including ARPA-funded items and an eText internet installment, and approved payroll for Dec. 20, 2024 (both votes 5–0).
IT and telecom contracts: The court ratified a CDW Government LLC statement of work to address voicemail/server restoration after a corrupted server and approved entering a RingCentral agreement under an EDCOG interlocal for a cloud phone system (monthly charges and a five-year credit were discussed); both actions passed 5–0.
Roads and utilities: Road & Bridge reported storm cleanup and active pothole and washout repairs. The court approved release of the maintenance bond and acceptance of 0.194 miles of Sweet Pea Lane into the county road inventory and approved the county’s annual mileage certification for 2024 (5–0). It also approved multiple utility applications for fiber-optic installations filed by East Texas Telephone Co-op and Spectrum Charter.
Treasurer reports: Treasurer Miss Rushing presented the November monthly cash and receipts/disbursements figures and an investment report showing holdings across multiple accounts; commissioners voted to publish the monthly report and accepted the investment report (5–0).
Why it matters: These approvals administer the county’s daily operations — from telecommunications and IT continuity to road maintenance, cash management and vendor payments — and keep projects moving forward.
What’s next: Staff will follow up on contract implementation, RingCentral training and installation scheduling, utility coordination for fiber projects, and routine posting of financial reports to the county website.
