Water Superintendent Russell obtained an extension related to the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District audit and the mayor and council said they will continue work on the audit. On traffic control, the council approved a motion to relocate a speed table removed from Reese Road to a location between lots 10 and 11 on Linch Road; the minutes record a second by Council member Patricia Smith but do not identify the motion's maker by name.
The council accepted the resignation of Council member Barnett and voted to publicly announce the open council seat for citizens of Turin to consider. The mayor handed out information about federally observed holidays for the employee handbook and the council tabled handbook changes to its July meeting. A separate motion by Council member Lydia Wallin to allow council members access to office records outside normal business hours received no second and failed.
Mayor Sprouse advised that Mr. Burgess will give a 15-minute presentation on the Coweta County Local Emergency Operations plan at the August meeting. The comprehensive plan process continues; a public questionnaire will be posted on the town website and the next comprehensive plan meeting is scheduled for Thursday at Town Hall.
On a motion by Council member Patricia Smith, seconded by Council member Lydia Wallin, the council adjourned. The minutes bear a clerk's approval line dated July 20, 2026.
