Minto council approves abatement, two resolutions and routine claims; grants permits and signs contracts

The Minto City Council on Jan. 13 approved a series of motions covering tax relief, administrative rules, contracts, and routine city business.
The council approved an abatement request from Ryan Ebertowski for Parcel 39-0000-12415-000 for tax year 2024. Walsh County Tax Equalization Director Ed Sevigny recommended changing the parcel’s true-and-full value from $86,000 to $40,860 because the house on the property had burned; the motion to approve the abatement was made by John Narloch, seconded by Lucas Kelley and carried.
Council members also approved routine claims and payroll for December 2024. On a motion by Lucas Kelley, seconded by John Narloch, the council carried approval of claims and financials; the minutes list total claims for December 2024 as $61,671.62.
The council adopted two administrative resolutions. Resolution 2025-001 (Listing of Depository Banks) and Resolution 2025-002 (Expedition of Business — authorizing the city auditor to pay certain miscellaneous items) were each presented by Mrs. Shutt and passed on motions made by John Narloch and seconded by Lucas Kelley.
Other approvals included a building permit for Kenny Kilichowski (garage addition and new siding), and a contract with engineering firm AE2S (approved on a motion by Lucas Kelley and seconded by John Narloch). The council also agreed to participate in the Walsh County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan; at least one city representative will participate in the county process.
The council adjourned at 9:02 PM. The minutes record the motions, movers and seconders for these actions but do not include a roll-call vote tally for each item.
