Premier Lakes reports algae, sound mitigation and delays on littoral plantings after Edgewater concerns

Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes reported to the River Ridge board that lakes, preserves and dry retention areas are generally in good condition, though seasonal algae growth was observed. Kurth said a cabinet installed around the compressor at Masters Lake reduced measured sound from roughly 64 decibels to about 52 decibels, which he called acceptable; Operations Manager Shane Willis said the sound’s tone, rather than overall decibel level, remains an issue.
Kurth and Willis discussed moving the compressor and easement considerations; Mr. Willis said he will coordinate with Bill and Alex Kurth and report at the next meeting. The board agreed there should be no planting of Canna lilies and decided to delay installing littoral plantings in Lake E4-A until an agreement is reached with the Edgewater Condo Association. Staff will place the Lake E4-A plantings on hold and resubmit the proposal once the association and Cambridge Management have been consulted.
Willis also presented the annual quality assurance audit for lake maintenance and dry retention, reporting that water levels were high, audits will be scheduled earlier next year and there were no compliance issues; he said the lakes have improved considerably under Premier Lakes’ maintenance. Kurth left the call before the meeting’s end.
