Tetonia council approves Silverstar fiber installation quotes over one objection

Councilmembers discussed whether to pursue hardline fiber connections for City Hall and two wells and requested additional information about costs, security and feasibility. Ryan Bonilla moved to accept the proposed quotes and the new office phone contingent on Verizon arrangements; Blaine Ball seconded. Aaron Hansen objected. The minutes record the motion passing with three ayes and one nay.
Mayor Brent Schindler said he would reach out to Silverstar to determine whether the cost and security tradeoffs for hardline connections to City Hall, Well 1 and Well 2 would be acceptable. The motion authorizes moving forward with the current quotes while staff gathers more precise cost and infrastructure details.
Implementation will depend on final vendor agreements and any coordination required with Verizon or other service providers.
