City attorney advises safety measures for pool culvert; council directs staff to order reflectors

City Clerk Lana Robinson said she had consulted the city attorney, who recommended installing reflectors, placing a guardrail or taking other precautions once the city is aware of a recurring hazard. Public works employee Jim Miller suggested closing parking from the pool entrance gate through the drive to the rodeo arena if short-term measures proved insufficient.
Robinson told the council she will check reflector pricing and order reflectors as an initial step. The council did not take formal vote action on the culvert item but directed staff to proceed with the low-cost safety option and to report back with cost estimates for additional measures.
Next steps: staff will obtain cost estimates and implement reflectors; the council may consider additional traffic control or barriers if reflectors do not mitigate the hazard.
