After board discussion and a motion, Chair called the vote and announced the meal-pricing motion passed 6-4.
On the consent agenda, the board approved routine items including accounts payable and payroll for most of July, the hiring of John Bersner as a long-term substitute for Maddie Fletcher at the elementary school, and the list of fall coaches submitted for approval. The Chair moved to approve the consent items and announced the motion passed with a recorded tally of 6-0.
The board also authorized staff to make potential transfers from EDU (rainy day) funds to cover June closing line items if necessary; staff said exact line-item totals were not yet available and committed to reporting back at the next meeting. The Chair moved and the board approved that authorization 6-0.
Members approved an updated employee handbook, which staff said was finalized after an administrative retreat so elementary and high school personnel have aligned policies. The Chair announced the handbook motion passed (tally announced as '6').
Staff announced an open house for families on Aug. 6 from 5:15 to 7:15 p.m., teacher CPR training the same morning and noted administrative coverage during a planned staff vacation window in early August. Board members asked several logistical questions about billing and scheduling before the meeting moved on.
