Hines council approves $81,361.55 in bills, renews school baseball banner and OKs local photography license

The council also accepted the Jan. 27 minutes, which record earlier actions including Resolution 2388 (designation of agent for the OEM Hazard Mitigation Grant Program), Resolutions 2389 and 2390 authorizing capital equipment loans for a police vehicle and a public works truck, and approval of a motor-replacement quote from MJC Auto Repair.
Amie Scott asked the council to renew a $300 banner sponsorship for the local high school baseball team and described promotional plans for the season under new coach Cam Hueckman. Councilor Brizendine moved to renew the sponsorship, Councilor Hodge seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
The council approved a business license for "The Beers Shot," a photography business operated by Kaelin Beers. Councilor Roger Hodge moved for approval and Councilor Dean Brizendine seconded. The vote was recorded as five ayes, one abstention; Councilor Robert Beers abstained because the applicant is his daughter. The motion carried.
The meeting concluded with brief council remarks and adjournment at 6:52 p.m. The council's next regular meeting is scheduled for Feb. 24, 2026, per the acceptance and approval date on the minutes.
