The Brentwood Public Works Committee on June 9 voted unanimously to forward a recommendation to the Board of Aldermen to contract with Kim Lundgren Associates (KLA) to develop an interactive city sustainability dashboard.
Planning Director Whitney Kelly told the committee that KLA is a nationally recognized firm that provides branded, interactive dashboards designed to translate complex sustainability data into accessible visuals and narratives. Kelly said KLA’s platform includes tools for tracking implementation progress, supporting compliance reporting, and engaging the public through story maps, polls and news updates, and that a typical development timeline is approximately four months.
Alderwoman Nancy Parker Tice moved to forward a recommendation to contract with KLA; Alderman Michael Meyer seconded the motion. The committee recorded a unanimous vote in favor and the recommendation will go to the full Board of Aldermen for consideration.
Why it matters: staff said an interactive dashboard would improve transparency and public engagement by making sustainability metrics and implementation status easier for residents and staff to access. The dashboard vendor’s ongoing technical and communications support was cited as a reason for the selection recommendation.
