Fremont County commissioners approve routine bills, contracts and Petersdorf Trust distributions

The Fremont County Board of Commissioners met in Lander on July 14, 2026 and voted unanimously to approve the meeting agenda, previous minutes and a slate of bills and contracts. Chairman Larry Allen presided over the session, which began at 9:00 a.m.
Commissioner Clarence Thomas moved to approve the agenda with changes; Commissioner Michael Jones seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The board then approved the July 6 and July 7, 2026 minutes and accepted bills for payment after a motion from Commissioner Jennifer Wilson and a second from Commissioner Ron Fabrizius.
The accepted bills included a wide range of county expenditures. Notable line items listed in the packet included a Motorola Solutions equipment lease for $284,574.00, W.A.R.M. Property Insurance Pool coverage for $169,369.96, Local Government Liability Pool insurance for $109,112.00, Alexander Excavation invoices totaling $278,385.11, and Windmill LLC charges of $62,642.13. The board took the bill list as presented and carried the acceptance motion unanimously.
On contracts and administrative matters, Commissioner Michael Jones moved and Commissioner Clarence Thomas seconded to approve a contract with the Wyoming Office of the Attorney General, Division of Victims of Crimes, for the Fremont County Attorney Victim Witness Program for July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027, with reimbursements not to exceed $145,219.00; the motion carried unanimously. The board also approved a radio maintenance renewal with ComTech for $39,096.72 per year and accepted a Conflict of Interest Agreement related to the Martha Petersdrof Hospital Trust.
The board adopted Resolution 2026-20 to appoint a special prosecutor and approved authorization for Fremont County Public Health to fill a vacant full-time Nursing Supervisor position, with the county committing to pay 35% of salary and benefits. The commissioners also approved two Approach Access applications for Honor Farm Road from SDC Riverton LLC and a right-of-way application for Willow Creek Road from High Plains Power, Inc.; all motions carried unanimously.
Commissioner Jennifer Wilson moved, and Commissioner Ron Fabrizius seconded, to approve the 2026 distribution of $16,000 from the Petersdorf Hospital Trust. The distribution was allocated as follows: $8,000 to the Reach Foundation for further distribution to Riverton Senior Citizens, Sepiternal Society, Fremont County Hospice and other local institutions providing services to older residents; $5,760 to the Lander Senior Citizens Center; $960 to the High Country (Dubois) Senior Citizens Center; and $1,280 to the Shoshoni Senior Citizens Center. The motion carried unanimously.
Other items reviewed by the board included certification of assessed values from the State Board of Equalization and the county’s monthly revenue reports, which were noted without further action. The meeting was adjourned at 9:40 a.m.; the board will reconvene July 21, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.
