At the June 8 Commission on Aging meeting, resident Patricia Gaenzler used the public-comment period to request that the town pilot a program requiring a photo ID when filing or changing a deed or title.
Gaenzler asked the commission to request the Town of Mansfield pursue such a pilot. Commissioners discussed the best ways for Gaenzler to present the idea and she said she felt comfortable bringing the proposal to a Town Council meeting in July during the public-comment portion of that agenda. Commission members who wish to provide moral support said they will attend as private citizens; no formal COA action was recorded on the proposal.
The COA provided no formal direction or vote on the matter at the June 8 meeting; Gaenzler is expected to present the idea to the council in July.
