The City Council on Jan. 26 approved Resolution 2026-01, repealing and replacing Resolution 2024-14, and adopted adjustments to the employee pay scale that add a seventh tier for the remainder of fiscal years 2024–2026.
Council said the resolution is intended to allow timely payment of certain accounts-payable items to avoid penalties and service disruptions while maintaining fiscal accountability and Council oversight. The minutes record that Council also directed staff to prepare and maintain an official list of approved autopay and out-of-cycle vendors and to post that list on the City’s website for transparency.
Council reviewed a staff recommendation to add a seventh pay tier. The new pay scales resulted in a $1.95 increase for Accounting Specialist Flora and a $1.21 increase for Public Works Lead Murray. Council directed staff to implement the updated pay scales in ADP and to credit back pay on the Feb. 1 paycheck to each employee’s anniversary date.
The minutes do not record who moved or seconded the motions, nor do they include a roll-call vote tally. The consent agenda (which included prior minutes and the Treasurer’s Report) was approved without additional detail recorded in the minutes.
The Council’s direction to post the autopay vendor list is recorded as an instruction to staff; the minutes do not specify a deadline for posting or the exact contents of the vendor list. Staff is responsible for preparing the list consistent with the resolution.
