Kearney Board approves consent agenda, hears monthly finances and a mayoral appointment

At its March 16 meeting the Kearney Board of Aldermen approved the consent agenda—including minutes from March 2 and February financial and municipal court summaries—by a unanimous vote after a motion from Alderperson David Lehman and a second from Alderperson Dan Holt.
Finance Director Stephanie Harris presented the February monthly financial report (the minutes record the report but do not include line-item figures). Mayor Randy Pogue announced a mayoral appointment of Katie Wright to the MU Extension Council. City Administrator Sheila Ernzen and staff reminded the public that the next Board meeting is scheduled for April 6 and that the April 7 municipal election open house will be held March 24 from 4–6 p.m. at City Hall.
During alderperson remarks, Alderperson David Lehman noted the scheduled laying down and removal of the old water tower as a milestone; Alderperson Gerri Spencer said residents have expressed enthusiasm about restoring lights on the water tower. Alderpersons Ashton King and Dan Holt indicated they had no remarks.
The meeting later recessed into executive session under RSMo 610.021 to discuss legal, real estate, contract and personnel matters; the minutes record the invocation of statutory subsections but no public action resulting from that executive session.
