Board members directed Kress to pilot implementation in kindergarten through eighth grade before extending rules to the high school. Larin Mortimer moved to approve the first reading and Carol Hepworth seconded; the motion passed 4‑0.
The board did not adopt final language at this meeting; the superintendent will form a committee of stakeholders to review details, and the board will consider additional readings and implementation timelines in future meetings.
