The Finney County Board of Commissioners took several formal actions at its July 20 meeting, including grant-funded courtroom upgrades, a facility naming resolution, and scheduling of multiple local budget hearings.
Courtroom upgrades: District court staff recommended McClellan Inc. to provide integrated audio and video upgrades for courtrooms 200 and 300. The Office of Judicial Administration awarded a $77,825 grant to reimburse the county; the county will initially fund the work and seek full reimbursement under grant terms. The board approved the recommendation and authorization to proceed with the contractor.
Facility naming: The board adopted Resolution No. 26-2026 to name the joint Finney County Health Department and EMS facility the Finney County Health Department and Robert D. (Bob) Pruitt EMS facility, honoring Bob Pruitt’s more than 50 years of EMS service in the region; the resolution was approved unanimously and Pruitt offered brief remarks.
Sewer district hearings and budgets: The board scheduled the Eastside Sewer District budget hearing for Sept. 8, 2026 (levy 2.437 mills) and also scheduled hearings for Sewer Districts 2 (3.117 mills), 3 (4.949 mills) and 4 (new district, proposed 0.778 mills). Staff said district 4’s operational costs were previously paid from the road and bridge fund and the new rate reflects current needs.
Other formal business: The consent agenda was approved and the board removed (tabled) agenda item 6a for the next meeting. The board adjourned after commissioner reports and department updates.
