The Bozeman School District Board of Trustees approved a series of recognition resolutions and cleared consent items during its April 13 meeting.
Music and orchestra: Trustee Sandy Wilson read a resolution honoring CJMS band and orchestra for top awards at the MusicUSA festival in Orlando (orchestra placed first; band placed second). Trustee Sandy Wilson moved the resolution, Trustee Dee seconded; the motion passed 8‑0.
Swimming: The board recognized Bozeman High and Gallatin High swimmers for state championship finishes. Trustee Sarah Wilson moved the swim recognition resolution, Trustee Neal seconded; the motion passed 8‑0.
National Merit Scholarship: The board recognized Phoebe Cross as a National Merit Scholarship recipient. Trustee Moran moved the resolution, Trustee Berthelsen seconded; the motion passed 8‑0.
HOSA: The board recognized students and advisers for gold finishes at the HOSA state leadership conference; Trustee Gary Lucine moved the resolution, Trustee Sandy Wilson seconded; the motion passed 8‑0.
Consent agenda: The board approved consent agenda items 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4 on a motion by Trustee Neal, seconded by Trustee Sandy Wilson (motion passed 8‑0), and later approved item 3.5 on a motion by Trustee Neal, seconded by Trustee Berthelsen (motion passed 7‑0).
No contested public comment or negative votes were recorded on these items; the board took photographs and recognized students and staff present before moving on to other business.
