Tenino council accepts $8,000 donation to support Quarry Pool operations

The Tenino City Council voted on July 14 to accept an $8,000 donation from the Park Foundation Splash Bash fund to support operation of the Tenino Quarry Pool this summer.
Council moved and seconded the motion to accept the gift; the motion was approved by voice vote. Councilmembers publicly thanked event volunteers and donors for enabling the pool to remain open and said flexible scheduling and good weather had helped pool revenue this season.
"It's great that our community is willing to support it through Splash Bash and the people who run the Splash Bash," one councilmember said, thanking organizers and volunteers. Parks and recreation committee members emphasized that the donation was separate from an earlier donation from local attorneys and noted the contribution helps offset summer operating costs.
No further council action was required; staff will record the donation in the city's budget and accounts as received.
