"This legislation really just seeks to clarify what an individual may do in essentially displaying a firearm in a situation where he or she is being threatened and in a defensive posture," he said.
The committee took no substantive debate on the measure at the print hearing and approved a motion to send RS 33200 to print (motion moved by Senator Harris, seconded by Senator Taves) by a voice vote; no recorded nays were announced.
Next steps: the measure was sent to print and, if pursued, sponsors said they would provide fuller exposition and answers at a subsequent full hearing.
