Public Works Director Matthews told the Merrill City Council that the Lost River Bluegrass Festival is running in the red and is seeking financial help. Matthews asked that the council consider a $5,000 donation from the city's Community Foundation Grant Fund and said all bands have been contracted for the next year. Matthews also noted recent community donations (including $100 to Thousand Hills Church and $600 for Christmas lights) and that the festival has been agendized for future council consideration.
No vote was taken on Nov. 13; the request was placed on a future agenda for council consideration and further budget review.
