The Merrill City Council approved a $14,500 starting bid for a 2019 Dodge Charger during a Nov. 25 special business meeting at Merrill City Hall.
Councilor Johnson moved to approve the consent agenda and later moved to set the starting bid at $14,500 and place an advertisement for two weeks; Councilor Baley seconded. The council voted 4-0 in favor of the starting-bid motion. The staff record presented a trade-in range for the vehicle of $14,036 to $16,083 with an average trade-in value of $15,055.
City staff also reported that phone polls to confirm the special meeting had been approved earlier by four members. Mayor Guthrie led the meeting and made routine procedural remarks at the start of the session.
No public comments were received during the meeting. The council adjourned at 5:38 p.m.
